Safe Pesticide Handling & PPE

Pesticides are a critical part of modern agriculture, helping protect crops and ensure strong yields. However, they also introduce significant risks if not handled, applied, and stored properly. The first and most important step in pesticide safety is reading and understanding the label. Every product has specific instructions for mixing, application rates, required personal protective equipment (PPE), and storage. Storage is equally important. Pesticides should be kept in clearly labeled containers and stored in a locked, designated area. Never transfer chemicals into food or drink containers, as this can lead to accidental poisoning.

Finally, be prepared for emergencies. Know what to do in case of exposure or spills, and keep emergency contact information easily accessible.
